Baggage Allowance
HK Express offers carry-on baggage allowances tailored to each fare category.
Ultra Lite and Essential fares permit one small personal item, such as a handbag or laptop bag, fitting under the seat in front, with dimensions up to 40×25×20 cm and a weight limit of 7 kg.
Lite and Max fares include one cabin baggage up to 56×36×23 cm and one small personal item, with dimensions up to 40×25×20 cm, and maintaining a total weight allowance of 7 kg.
Checked baggage is included only in Essential and Max fare categories, with each bag not exceeding a total size of 158 cm (L+W+H) and a weight limit of 20 or 32 kg, depending on the purchased allowance.
Passengers may purchase additional baggage during booking, through Manage My Booking, or during online check-in. Overweight bags incur a fee of HKD 120 per kilogram, and oversized items must be checked as special baggage with applicable extra charges.
In-flight Services
HK Express offers an exciting array of foods and beverages onboard, enhancing passengers’ in-flight experiences. Travelers can pre-book main meals online for convenience and order instant specials, drinks, and alcoholic beverages from the comprehensive onboard menu during the flight.
Passengers are encouraged to explore and select their meal options through the “Manage My Booking” feature. Selected meals must be pre-booked no less than 24 hours before the scheduled departure time, ensuring availability and a seamless dining experience throughout the journey.
Check-in
HK Express facilitates online check-in starting 48 hours before departure and closes 75 minutes prior.
Passengers who need to check-in baggage must use designated airport counters before the closing time.
Passengers without any check-in baggage and possessing online or mobile boarding passes may proceed directly through Security and Immigration to the Boarding Gate, ensuring a seamless process.
Online check-in is unavailable for flights from Phu Quoc, Ningbo, and Sanya, and some destinations may mandate printed boarding passes according to local regulations.
Mobile check-in via the HK Express app enables the self-service Express Bag Drop pilot at Hong Kong International Airport, open to travelers aged 11 or above with e-passports issued by HKSAR after June 2019.
Web check-in at hkexpress.com requires printing a copy of the boarding pass on A4 paper or using the app.
Refund & Cancellation
HK Express flights, fares, and surcharges are generally non-refundable. However, refunds may be available under specific conditions by following the designated application process on their website. Passengers must provide accurate booking details and select the appropriate refund reason to proceed with their request. Additional services like baggage, seats, and meals are non-refundable and cannot be modified or transferred.
For passengers unable to travel due to serious medical conditions, HK Express allows date changes within 2 months of the original flight, contingent on valid medical documentation. All change requests require submission before departure and are subject to approval, seat availability, and any fare differences. Refund application statuses can be tracked online using the provided refund tracking number.
